This BB Is Airbrush In A Tube — Seriously

Even though I'm a beauty writer and am constantly surrounded by products, I am not happy with my skin. For the past year, my face has been a battleground of acne, redness, and general mayhem. It got to the point where I was wearing heavy foundation in 90-degree weather — and sweating it off, only to reapply over and over again.

The packaging also touted that one word that everyone seems to want for their skin — blur. Yes. Blame Instagram, blame Facebook, but we're used to filtering out all of our "imperfections" in order to look our best in photos. Effaclar BB Blur claims to smooth everything out, giving you airbrushed skin IRL.

The product contains a mattifier the brand dubs Airlicium. It absorbs three times its weight in oil, making it a go-to for those of us who get slick midday. But, even people with dry skin will see an instant benefit from Effaclar BB: It evens out skin tone like a regular BB, but puts your complexion in perfect condition for you to apply the rest of your makeup.

Honestly, I was pretty much floored the second I swiped the stuff on. For one, BB Blur squeezes out into an airy mousse — completely different than the watery BB's I was used to. I warmed it up on the top of my hand, then spread it all over my fingers. The formula slipped seamlessly over my face.

Once I had finished blending, I was pretty shocked by the face looking back at me. It looked like I'd placed a Valencia filter over my mirror — my skin was completely blurred, but still had a ton of life in it. In fact, I didn't even need concealer. And, the coverage stayed on all day. I didn't have to touch anything up until after my yoga class — and even at that point, the touch-ups were minimal. Best of all, though? It truly didn't look like I was wearing base makeup. The finish wasn't too matte or too dewy...it just looked like skin.

Since that first application, BB Blur has become a staple in my routine. And, don't let the little bottle fool you — it's been two months, and I still haven't reached the bottom.
